Seppeltsfield Cellar Door - Come and VisitWith over a century and a half of winemaking experience, the House of Seppelt is extremely proud of its heritage and rich tradition. The historic Seppelt winery, located in the Barossa Valley’s “Seppeltsfield” is a national treasure and well worth a visit.

Founded in 1851, the Seppelt cellar door in Seppeltsfield is the ideal place to experience the diverse range of Seppelt wines. From methode champenoise sparkling wines to premium table wines through to ports and sherries, no other wine range embodies the history of the Australian wine industry like The House of Seppelt does.

Guided Tours

“Daily Heritage Tour”
Daily at 11.30, 1.30 & 3.30pm

Duration: ¾ hour (including tasting)
Cost: $10 per person, children under 18 free.

“Journey into Fortifieds”   ** New Tour**
Daily at 2.30pm. Require 24 hours notice, minimum 4 people.

Journey into Fortified wines on an exclusive guided tour, including the innovative gravity feed cellar. Learn and discover the varying styles of the Seppelt award winning fortified family with a private tasting. Take delight in the Seppelt rare fortified wines, including Australia’s most awarded wine the Seppelt Rare DP90 Barossa Tawny. Match these golden drops of pleasure with a selection of local cheese and chocolate covered fruits.

Duration: 1½ hours (including tasting)
Cost: $25 per person

“The Legend of Seppelt”
Saturday & Sunday’s at 10.30am (additional times available by request).
Require 24 hours notice, minimum 2 people.

Enjoy the ultimate foresight of Benno Seppelt when you discover The Legend of Seppelt. Start in the original 1851 family Homestead, learn about the Seppelt family from their immigration, settlement by the Para river, to today. The House of Seppelt through its innovation over time is able to bring you a unique taste of sparkling, table and fortified wines.

Duration: 2 hours (including tasting)
Cost: $55 per person

Facilities

The Dining Hall (pictured below middle) - Built in 1890 the Seppelt Dining Hall is the prefect venue for weddings, cocktails, conferences and functions. Newly renovated in cream and burgundy, the Dining Hall creates a beautiful atmosphere for any type of event and it can comfortably sit 10 – 150 people. In addition, the experienced Seppelt team can cover all of your catering needs, including some wonderful premium wines.

Perfect for wedding ceremonies, the grounds and gardens at the Seppelt winery are spectacular and will make any important occasion truly memorable. There are three locations (pictured) where ceremonies are held; 1. Winemakers Lawn, 2. Wisteria Gazebo, 3. Elm Walkway. 

Another way to enjoy the beautiful Seppelt winery and grounds is to simply have a picnic or BBQ with a group of friends.
