Welcome to the October edition of the Seppelt Harvest eNewsletter. It has been a successful few weeks for Seppelt, with the 2005 Seppelt Drumborg Riesling, the 2003 Seppelt St. Peters Grampians Shiraz and the new 2003 Seppelt Benno Bendigo Shiraz in huge demand, in many instances selling out on the day of release.
It was lovely to see so many people at the Australian Wines of Distinction Roadshow in September with the Seppelt 1905 Para Tawny proving to be the drawcard of the nights’ tastings along with our new Seppelt releases.

Continuing the history of innovation, Seppelt has just released a limited amount of the 2002 Salinger
and the 2002
Seppelt Original Sparkling Shiraz under crown seal closure. This follows on from the wide appeal of the 1994 Show Sparkling Shiraz that was predominantly bottled with a crown seal closure with widespread acceptance.
Many ask, why no cork? For the same reason that wine under screw top has become popular, crown seal closures allow you to taste the wine exactly as the winemaker intended, removing any chance of cork taint. It also extends the ageing ability and helps to remove oxygen from the bottle giving a fresher wine for you to drink.

As the weather warms up and the end-of-year festivities set in, the newly released 2005
Seppelt Victorian Sauvignon Blanc is sure to be a spring favourite. Made with fruit sourced from the Seppelt
Glenlofty Vineyard in the Pyrenees along with the Strathbogie Ranges, the wine shows lifted gooseberry and lychee aromas with a tropical fruit salad palate.
Sauvignon Blanc is becoming an increasingly popular variety and is now only second to Chardonnay in terms of white wine sales! Whilst our New Zealand counterparts are leading the way, the Seppelt Victorian Sauvignon Blanc has a distinctive taste that has made it a favourite with consumers and retailers alike. The lively acidity balances the finish making it the perfect accompaniment for spicy foods or just drinking in the sun over a bbq.
Look out for this newly released wine at fine wine retailers or contact the
Seppelt Cellar Doors for more information.

The Pyrenees, named after the European Mountain range of the same name, is part of the Great Dividing Range. The Mountains provide more than a scenic backdrop to the area and its vineyards. Different micro climates, soils and aspect characteristics in the foothills offer a wealth of variety to the region’s winemakers – among them many a famous name like Dalwhinnie, Summerfield, Taltarni and
Warrenmang.
Wines from this region show intense perfume and complex blueberry characters. The region is the source of fruit for our
Seppelt Bellfield Marsanne
Rousanne, Seppelt Jaluka Chardonnay and
Seppelt Victorian Sauvignon Blanc.
