Vineyards | Barossa Valley

Founded
originally by English and then German Settlers the Barossa Valley is,
and always will be, the birthplace and centre of the Australian Wine
Industry. From the time that Joseph Seppelt purchased land in 1851 the
House of Seppelt has been synonymous with fortified winemaking in the
Barossa Valley. The
warm and dry summer climate of the Barossa Valley is ideal for
production of the ripe fruit perfectly suited for fortified wine
production. A number of vineyard sites, all mature and low yielding,
produce the principle fortified varietals of Grenache, Shiraz, Mourvedre
and Touriga.
